This work transcends the conventional depiction of the horse as a pictorial subject, presenting it instead as an ontological entity through which questions of existence, freedom, and transformation are examined. The horse does not merely represent itself; it operates as a metaphor for the human condition and the perpetual struggle against the psychological, social, and temporal boundaries that shape and constrain human experience. The horse’s emergence beyond the frame is not simply a visual gesture, but a philosophical act that challenges the very notion of the frame itself. Beyond its physical function as a boundary of the canvas, the frame becomes a symbolic representation of the limitations that define perception and structure human narratives. The act of transcending it becomes a declaration of liberation — an attempt to redefine the relationship between the self, existence, and the world. The sea, with its darkness, depth, and ambiguity, extends beyond its natural representation to become a symbolic landscape of the collective unconscious, where memories, fears, and existential struggles accumulate in the form of turbulent waves. Within this charged environment, the horse’s leap emerges as a transformative threshold — a moment of rebirth and transition, moving from the weight of limitation toward transcendence, from immersion beneath the forces of resistance toward an expanded state of freedom beyond space and time. Employing realism as a precise visual language, the work is further expanded through augmented reality technology, which challenges the traditional boundaries of the canvas and reconfigures the relationship between the artwork and the viewer. Here, technology is not merely an interactive tool, but an integral extension of the conceptual framework of the work, allowing the horse to exist beyond representation — as a presence that extends into the perceptual and experiential space of the observer. Rather than offering a definitive interpretation, the work manifests an existential inquiry: Will the human being remain confined within the frameworks that construct identity, habit, and limitation? Or will they, like the horse, transcend the boundaries of their own frame toward a wider realm of freedom and possibility? The inspiration behind the work : Transcendence was born from a personal experience that challenged not only my artistic independence, but also the way I perceived the obstacles in my life. While working with a group of artists preparing for an exhibition, I found myself in an environment where artistic decisions—from the initial concept and canvas dimensions to the very gestures of the brush—were subject to another person’s control. As an artist, I value the freedom to think, experiment, and develop my own visual language. I did not want to become a replica of someone else’s vision. I wanted to create on my own terms. Eventually, I chose to leave the group and pursue this work independently. That decision became more than a professional choice; it prompted me to reconsider the way I approached life itself. I began to see how life continually presents us with obstacles, boundaries, and circumstances that challenge our sense of freedom. Yet, perhaps the defining question is not whether these boundaries exist, but whether we choose to remain confined by them or find the courage to move beyond them. This reflection became the central image of Transcendence: an Akhal-Teke horse leaping out of the painting’s frame. Through augmented reality, the horse breaks the stillness of the canvas and moves beyond its physical boundaries, transforming an internal decision into a visible act of liberation. I chose the Akhal-Teke for its remarkable strength, its rare and ancient lineage, historically associated with endurance and warhorses, and its distinctive golden coat. To me, this extraordinary breed reflects a particular kind of human spirit: that of rare individuals who possess the strength to overcome life’s obstacles without losing their identity. I believe that what makes a person truly exceptional is not the absence of hardship, but the strength they acquire through overcoming it. It is this strength, shaped by adversity and carried with grace, that gives a person their deepest distinction and allure — much like the Akhal-Teke itself, whose beauty is inseparable from its strength. The horse’s leap represents a decisive moment: the choice to stop struggling indefinitely within a confined space and instead venture beyond it. Like waves that can keep us occupied in an endless struggle, obstacles can consume our lives if we allow them to define our limits. Sometimes, freedom begins when we decide to leap. Through Transcendence, I explore the courage required to reclaim one’s agency, preserve one’s identity, and embrace the uncertainty of an independent path. The work is both a reflection of my own experience and an invitation to the viewer to consider a fundamental question: When life places you inside a frame, will you spend your life fighting within it, or will you choose to leap beyond it?
